In 1920, an artisan tried to create molds starting from rubber tires – this marked the birth of the vulcanization process. Natural rubber combines with calcium bicarbonate and gets vulcanized at 140°C on pressed aluminum molds with old “press” machines. This is how Ollie came to life.
